At the formation of the company we gave priority to the outstanding attributes of the Quilliaia-Saponins. They are used in the products of the bonapharm GmbH to intensify the effects.

Quillaia-Saponins are substances with foam-like attributes which are obtained from the soap bark tree. Those trees mainly grow in South America (Chile). The Saponins (Latin: sapo-soap) increase the penetrability of the skin and reduce the surface tension of liquids. With the help of Saponins you can transport substances, which normally not or just merely get absorded by the skin, into deeper skin layers and in addtion are easier to dispense.

Synergies are possible with for example essential oils, especially with the tea tree oil. The picksan products for insects bites result from those outstanding attributes.

 Because of the influence on the surface tension of liquids, the Quillaia-Saponins are often used in the food technology for the creation and stabilisation of foams.
